Founded in 2021 by Deshani Naik Govind, Get Me Wed is a South African wedding planning and coordination company specialising in Indian and Hindu weddings, multicultural celebrations and thoughtfully curated events across South Africa.

With a professional background spanning the financial and technology industries, Deshani brings a commercially savvy, digitally enabled approach to wedding planning, helping couples make informed decisions, manage their budgets wisely and navigate the many moving parts of their celebrations with greater ease.

Since 2021, we have built trusted relationships with talented suppliers across the wedding industry. We help our couples find the right creative partners for their vision, priorities and budget, while bringing the planning, communication and logistics together behind the scenes. Most importantly, our couples retain their creative freedom. You make the personal, beautiful and meaningful choices. Hindu

Hindu wedding ceremonies bring together a range of rituals and traditions, with each ceremony carrying its own meaning. From the mandap and sacred fire to the Saptapadi, the wedding can include several important moments that require careful planning and coordination.

Tamil

Tamil Hindu weddings include ceremonies and traditions that can differ from other Hindu wedding celebrations. Events such as the Kashi Yatra, Oonjal and Thaali ceremony form part of the wedding journey, with family and cultural traditions playing an important role.

Telugu

Telugu weddings feature a series of rituals and celebrations, including ceremonies such as Jeelakarra Bellam and Talambralu. The wedding often involves several events, making coordination an important part of bringing everything together.

Gujarati

Gujarati weddings combine Hindu wedding rituals with traditions specific to Gujarati culture. Ceremonies such as the Jaimala, Madhuparka and Mangal Pheras form part of the celebrations, often alongside pre-wedding events.

North Indian
