Beautiful weddings begin with smart planning. Founded in 2021, Get Me Wed is a South African wedding planning and coordination company specialising in Hindu weddings, multicultural celebrations and thoughtfully curated events across South Africa.

We work especially well with busy professionals – couples with demanding careers, full lives and beautiful ideas, who want to be involved in creating their wedding without having to personally manage every supplier, quotation, follow-up and moving part behind the scenes. Our story began with suppliers. Get Me Wed first entered the wedding industry as a vendor advertising platform, building relationships with talented creatives and established wedding professionals before expanding into planning and coordination at the encouragement of our vendor community. Those relationships remain one of our greatest strengths today.

When a couple plans with Get Me Wed, suppliers know there is structure behind the celebration. Briefs are considered, expectations are clear, communication is managed and decisions are followed through. We help our couples navigate quotations, understand what to expect from each supplier and make commercially considered choices that remain true to their vision and budget.

Most importantly, you retain the creative freedom.

You make the personal, beautiful and meaningful choices. We provide the planning expertise, commercial guidance, supplier coordination and structure that make those choices easier to execute. Our goal is to have the administration, logistics and difficult conversations handled well before your wedding arrives – so that as the celebrations draw closer, your attention can shift away from spreadsheets, supplier follow-ups and unfinished details, and back to yourselves. Because you should not arrive at one of the most significant celebrations of your life already exhausted from planning it.

Ours wasn’t necessarily the easiest wedding to define. We were bringing together my Hindi traditions and Gerhard’s Afrikaans background, while also wanting the celebrations to feel completely like us. We wanted a Hindu wedding that honoured the traditions and significance of what we were doing, but with modern, personal and sometimes slightly unconventional touches woven through it. Across three days of celebrations, Deshani somehow understood exactly what we were trying to create and helped us bring those different worlds together beautifully.

There were so many moving parts across those three days, and Deshani seemed to hold all of them together effortlessly. Every detail remembered, every problem quietly solved, every late-night message answered, every moment of reassurance when we needed it — and countless things happening behind the scenes that we probably still don’t know about. She created beautiful handmade prints and even our garlands herself, and that level of personal care and dedication showed throughout our celebrations.

What stood out most was that we never felt like we were simply another wedding being coordinated. Deshani and the team of vendors she procured genuinely cared about us, our families, our guests and the experience we were trying to create. She listened to our ideas — including some of our stranger ones! — understood what mattered to each of us, and helped us find ways to respect tradition while still making the celebrations unmistakably ours. Somehow, she made the impossible feel effortless.

Our hope going into the wedding was that the people we love would leave feeling as though they had been part of something really special. More than simply creating a beautiful wedding, we wanted to create an experience where both our families and all our friends felt welcomed, included, celebrated and genuinely cared for.
What we didn’t expect was just how special Deshani would make us feel too. For three days, Gerhard and I genuinely felt like Indian royalty. ❤️

Looking back, we don’t just feel fortunate that we chose Get Me Wed. We feel incredibly fortunate that the experience brought Deshani into our lives. She is an exceptional wedding planner, but beyond that, she is an absolutely wonderful human being.

Deshani, thank you for every detail, every problem solved, every moment of reassurance, and for helping us create a wedding that honoured where we come from while still feeling completely like us. You helped create memories that we, our families and our friends will treasure for the rest of our lives.

We hired Deshani for on-the-day wedding coordination, and from the very beginning, she was professional, caring, and genuinely invested in making our wedding day special. Deshani Naik Govind

With a professional background spanning the financial and technology industries, Deshani brings a commercially savvy, digitally enabled and highly structured approach to wedding planning.

A strategic thinker, business owner and mother of two, she is accustomed to managing many moving parts at once – bringing clarity to complexity, maintaining high standards and, most importantly, helping people keep moving forward with calm and confidence.

For Deshani, however, Get Me Wed is deeply personal. Rooted in the Hindu philosophy of Atithi Devo Bhava – “the guest is God” – she believes a celebration should consider not only how it looks, but how people experience it: how they are welcomed, hosted, communicated with, cared for and eventually sent home. She approaches every couple individually and cares deeply about creating celebrations where the couple feels genuinely attended to and their families and guests are treated with warmth, professionalism and respect.

Her cultural understanding is another important part of her work. Deshani enjoys helping couples and families navigate traditions, understand the significance behind rituals and find the common ground that often exists between different cultures.

Where wedding planning can sometimes feel complicated or overwhelming, her instinct is to simplify: breaking big decisions into manageable ones, creating structure where it is needed and finding a thoughtful way forward while preserving the relationships that matter.

Ultimately, Deshani created Get Me Wed to give couples something increasingly valuable: the freedom to be present. By bringing together commercial thinking, cultural sensitivity, organisation and genuine care, she helps couples arrive at their celebrations feeling prepared, supported and able to experience the people, traditions and moments they planned so carefully to bring together.

At Get Me Wed, our approach to Hindu and cross-cultural weddings is rooted in respect for tradition, openness and inclusivity. We recognise that customs can differ between cultures, communities and even individual families, which is why we encourage couples to understand the significance of their ceremonies directly with their chosen priest or officiant.

Where helpful, we work alongside them to understand what is required and translate those requirements into thoughtful, practical planning. For cross-cultural couples especially, we believe that clarity in advance allows both partners and their families to approach each tradition with greater understanding and ease.

Our role is not to define what a ceremony should be, but to help create the structure around it – simplifying where appropriate, planning for what matters and allowing each couple to experience their traditions with intention, respect and presence.
